nothing.

i know i haven't written in a while. i'm just...i don't even know if i have words for how i feel about what happened, and what continued to happen, in New Orleans and beyond. i can't even articulate my anger. i'm angrier, and more scared than i was on the 11th, because i've finally saw what the American government's made of. complete. and. utter. shit.

fuck you, Mr. President.

On the front page of the freebie newspaper Metro on Friday
there was a photograph on the cover portraying "Evacuees from
the Superdome in New Orleans argue as they line up for a bus
trip to the Houston Astrodome yesterday during the evacuation
efforts after Hurricane Katrina."

I read the article on the cover, and the article inside, and
there was no mention anywhere that every single face in that
photograph was Black. You'd think that would count as a
newsworthy observation.

hi, I found your site through your centralia website... I'm an architecture student at Penn State University and I'm doing my senior thesis project on Centralia, memory, finitude, and the power of place. I was wondering if I could use some of your photos or observations in my research, or if you know of any other sources of information other than those you linked to? also, I plan on eventually getting some sort of correspondant web page with my research up, and if I do can I link to you? drop me an email, as I have no blogger account. thanks!
